Postpartum Support

The transition to motherhood is a hard one, there is no doubt.  Between the hormonal changes, exhaustion, pain from childbirth, and all the stresses of a newborn, it is amazing any woman comes out of the process ok.  While most people think of the worst case scenarios when someone brings up postpartum depression, the reality is that even "small" amounts of depression or anxiety can have long lasting impacts on the family and newborn. This group is designed to offer therapeutic support to women who are experiencing difficulties during this time.  Whether you feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed or just not yourself, this group may provide the help you need to thrive with your newborn.  Moms can bring their newborn with them and each group will include attachment and bonding activities with their babies. This is an open group, meaning that it has no set time line and will continue ongoingly.  Group members can join at any time after an initial screening with the therapist to ensure a good fit.  The therapist controls group size to ensure that it doesn't get too big.

Group Therapy can be a powerful and effective way to grow, change and heal. Often clients experience these things at faster rates through the experience of a group.
